An Artist’s online shop is a website that enables visitors to find, order, and pay for products and/or services. Running a successful store involves getting qualified buyers to visit your store, helping them to understand their problem (and the pain or desire that it is causing them), giving evidence you can solve their problem (credibility), and making it easy for them to acquire the solution from you (steps they use to gain ownership of the item). An artist’s online shop will typically include a storefront, shopping cart, and payment processing. There are many store hosting options that can influence the effectiveness of a user experience and web analytics can be used to determine which mix of web pages, content choices, and product offers are most effective.
Do you want to create your own artist’s online shop?
If you want to create your own artist’s online shop, you will need a website with a content management system such as WordPress or Wix, etc. This website uses WordPress. WordPress gives you the freedom to build anything you want and that is why I use it! WordPress themes have a plugin architecture. Plugins extend the capability of your website to do what you want. Sothis website uses the following plugins: Woocommerce, Facebook for Woocommerce, WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway, and Google listings and adverts. Once you have correctly installed them and configured them, you will need to sell something. Many artists sell their own artworks. This is where having an account with Etsy can be useful and the Etsy WordPress plugin can make integration easier. Other artists want to sell other merchandise such as T-shirts, etc. For this, I use Printify, etc. Printify elts you create and sell custom branded clothing, wall art, and phone accessories, etc. Everything is taken care of for you. You simply create your artist’s online shop and integrate it with your website. If you want some help with this, please do contact me. Alternatively, you can google search “Print on demand Woocommerce” and find another solution. My online shop is here. This page is active primarily to show you how it would look. I don’t need to sell merchandise as I earn a living as a Teacher.
