What I teach

Curriculum vitae

In English, a curriculum vitae is a short written summary of a person’s career, qualifications, and education. This is the most common usage in both North American and British English. In North America, the term résumé is a common synonym for CV in the sense of a short career summary.

Purpose of a curriculum vitae

A CV, which stands for curriculum vitae, is a document used when applying for jobs. It allows you to summarise your education, skills, and experience enabling you to successfully sell your abilities to potential employers. Alongside your CV employers also usually ask for a cover letter.
